In Kırşehir, 67 suspects were detained and 23 people were arrested in 31 operations carried out against the terrorist organization ISIS in the first 9 months of 2026. Kırşehir Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek, who announced the balance sheet of the operations, reported that no terrorist act took place in the city during the same period. The results of operations against PKK/KCK and FETÖ were also announced.
The 9-month results of operations against the terrorist organization ISIS in Kirsehir drew attention. While dozens of suspects were apprehended in operations carried out by security forces, 23 people were sent to prison.
31 OPERATIONS AGAINST ISIS: 23 PEOPLE ARRESTED
Kirsehir Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek announced data regarding public order and counterterrorism efforts carried out throughout the city in the January-September period of 2026. According to the information provided by Governor Demiryürek, 31 separate operations were carried out against the terrorist organization ISIS in only Kirsehir within 9 months.
In the operations, 67 people were detained in Kirsehir on suspicion of being linked to the organization. After their police procedures, 23 of the suspects who were referred to judicial authorities were arrested, while 6 people were released under judicial control conditions. The announced figures revealed that the highest number of detentions and arrests in operations against terrorist organizations in the city were made within the scope of ISIS.
OPERATIONS AGAINST FETÖ AND PKK/KCK ALSO ANNOUNCED
In Kirsehir, operations were carried out not only against ISIS but also against other terrorist organizations. Governor Demiryürek stated that 17 suspects were detained in 12 operations against FETÖ. Three of the suspects were arrested, while judicial control decisions were issued for 3 people. Three separate operations were organized against the PKK/KCK terrorist organization. In these operations, a total of 12 suspects were detained.
