The earthquake that occurred in Afghanistan's Hindu Kush region caused casualties in the capital, Kabul. The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) announced that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.9 and occurred at a depth of 177 kilometers.

Afghanistan's Health Ministry Spokesperson Sharafat Zaman stated, "8 people lost their lives in the earthquake. The bodies of the family from the Gosfandara area of Kabul were transferred to the forensic unit." Zaman also noted that a 2-year-old child was injured during the earthquake and was transferred to a children's hospital in the area.

The National Seismic Monitoring Center (NSMC) of the Pakistan Meteorological Department also reported that a 6.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Hindu Kush region at 21:13 local time.
