In the investigation against Uşak Municipality, Bornova Municipality's A.A., who was hired under the "girlfriend quota," was detained due to allegations of receiving a salary without actually working. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki and three others were referred to the court with a request for arrest. A.A., the girlfriend of former Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, and the three individuals, including Eşki, were released.

"Qualified fraud and forgery of official documents" allegations led to the detention of Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki and 3 other suspects, who were released by the court to which they were referred with a request for arrest.

In the investigation conducted by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the questioning of Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki and the other suspects who were captured was completed. A total of 4 suspects, including Ömer Eşki, who was detained on charges of 'Qualified Fraud' and 'Forgery of Official Documents', were referred to the courthouse after their procedures were completed.

UNJUST SALARY ALLEGATION

It was learned that the investigation was initiated on April 1, based on allegations that a person named Aslıhan Aksoy received a salary without actually working within the Bornova Municipality. According to the allegation, it was determined that the suspect, who was registered as a Call Center Customer Representative with the Social Security Institution (SGK) on September 22, 2025, did not perform any duties at the municipality. A detailed examination was conducted regarding the suspect, who was claimed to be employed as an 'ATM officer'.

RESPONSIBLE PARTIES IDENTIFIED IN THE REPORT

According to the prepared SGK Expertise Report, the responsible parties related to the incident were identified one by one. The report noted that Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki, Call Center Customer Representative A.A., Bornova Municipality Personnel Inc. General Directorate Human Resources Manager P.K., and Acting Director of Press and Public Relations of Bornova Municipality İ.A. were responsible. Following the report, teams that took action detained the suspects.

Eşki and the 3 individuals accompanying him appeared in court with the prosecutor's request for arrest. Eşki and the other 3 suspects were released by the court they were brought before.
