In the Turgutlu district of Manisa, after heavy rainfall, the Irlamaz Stream overflowed, resulting in thousands of acres of agricultural land being submerged. In Salihli, a bridge collapsed under the excessive rainfall, and homes, businesses, and barns were flooded. In İzmir Ödemiş, the rising flow of the Küçük Menderes River caused flooding, while similar scenes were recorded in Aydın, Muğla, and Antalya.

The Aegean and Mediterranean Regions were hit by heavy downpours. Many cities were flooded, with homes and businesses submerged, while agricultural lands were also inundated.

AGRICULTURAL LANDS IN TURGUTLU WERE INUNDATED

After the heavy rain in Turgutlu district of Manisa, the Irlamaz Stream overflowed following the Gediz River. According to initial assessments after the flood, approximately 450 hectares of land in the Turgutlu Plain were covered with water. The agricultural lands in the region suffered significant damage. The flood, which negatively affected agricultural production in the plain, left farmers in a difficult situation.

Following the incident, teams from the State Water Works (DSI) were dispatched to the region and began working with heavy machinery to prevent the spread of the flood. It was reported that embankment reinforcement works were ongoing in the area.

BRIDGE COLLAPSED IN SALİHLİ

In Salihli district, after the heavy rain, a bridge used by pedestrians in Keli Neighborhood collapsed under the floodwaters. The flow of the Gediz River, known as the lifeline of Manisa and Menemen Plains, quickly rose to dangerous levels. With the overflow of the river, nearby vineyards and agricultural lands were submerged.

As a result of the rapid increase in the flow of the Kurşunlu Stream in Salihli, the waters overflowed the Kurşunlu Bridge, causing damage. While the Salihli Municipality teams continued maintenance and repair work on the bridge, some areas in the picnic area were closed as a precaution.

Moreover, due to the heavy rains, flooding also affected the Salihli-Çelikli road. As the flow of Gümüşçayı reached dangerous levels, the road in the Hacıbektaşlı Cemetery area was submerged. Teams dispatched to the region took security measures and closed the road to traffic.

Recently increasing rainfall in İzmir has led to flooding. The Küçük Menderes River, which rose due to the downpour in the region, overflowed. Agricultural lands and barns in the Ağırkırı area of Seyrekli Neighborhood in Ödemiş district were flooded. Approximately 1,000 acres of lettuce, grain, and potato fields were damaged.

Additionally, the road was closed to traffic due to the flooding. Waste accumulated in the river also drew attention. Work has begun in the region to drain the water.

Recently increasing rainfall in Aydın has led to flooding. The Menderes River, which rose due to the downpour in the region, overflowed, and agricultural lands in the Çiftlik Koçak Stream area of Köşk district were submerged. Approximately 150 acres of wheat and alfalfa fields were damaged. Farmers in the region inspected their lands.

After the heavy rain that affected the Oba Neighborhood of Alanya in Antalya last night, the Oba Stream overflowed. Damage occurred in the businesses, and the flooding was captured by drone.

As the intensity of the rain increased, water flowed heavily from the rocks located along the Alacami road. The rainwater coming from the slopes combined with the stream waters, creating a flood-like appearance in the area. The resulting scene caused images reminiscent of a natural disaster to emerge in the region.

ROADS IN MUĞLA TURNED INTO PONDS

In Muğla Menteşe, streets and avenues were flooded due to the heavy rain that started on the evening of February 4 and was effective, causing pedestrians and drivers to experience difficult moments.

Orhaniye, Kafaca, and Yerkesik neighborhoods' agricultural lands were submerged. Municipal teams went on alert after the rainfall. According to information from the meteorology department, 96 kilograms of rain fell per square meter in Menteşe within 24 hours. It was reported that the rainfall would continue to have an effect tomorrow. Meanwhile, the submerged agricultural lands were captured by drone footage.
