Following the corruption and terrorism investigations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, 53 out of the 134 people detained during the protests have been arrested.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the procedures of 134 individuals who were detained for participating in protests related to the detention and subsequent arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu have been completed.
Among the 134 suspects whose statements were taken by the prosecutor's office at the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, 73 were ordered to be arrested, while 61 were referred to the peace criminal court with a request for judicial control.
53 MORE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED
The court ruled for the arrest of 53 suspects. The court decided to apply a judicial control measure including "not leaving the residence" for 18 of the suspects, while 63 suspects were released by applying other judicial control measures.
THE NUMBER OF ARRESTED INDIVIDUALS HAS INCREASED TO 263
It has been learned that a total of 263 suspects referred to the Istanbul Peace Criminal Court regarding social events have been arrested within the scope of the investigation.
LAWSUIT AGAINST 74 PEOPLE
On the other hand, a lawsuit has been filed against 74 suspects, 59 of whom are detained, with a request for up to 3 years in prison for participating in unauthorized demonstrations.
In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that the Istanbul Governorship's decision prohibited gatherings, marches, and protests from March 19 to 23, and that this decision was extended for another 4 days.
It was reported in the indictment that various meetings, demonstrations, and marches were organized in violation of the aforementioned prohibitions at different locations across Istanbul. It was noted that suspects were identified in the studies conducted to uncover individuals involved in activities contrary to the law within groups operating under the Istanbul Anti-Terror Branch Directorate.
In the indictment, it was stated that as a result of the examination and evaluations made on the footage of the actions, separate investigation reports were prepared for each defendant, confirming that the individuals participated in meetings, demonstrations, and marches despite the Istanbul Governorship's prohibition decision.
