A TOTAL OF 8 JOURNEYS IN THE 2025 SEASON
Uraloğlu noted that the Touristic Diyarbakır Express will make a total of 8 journeys between April 11 and May 25, 2025, saying, "Our train will depart from Ankara on Fridays and from Diyarbakır on Sundays, operating mutual journeys every two weeks. With 4 departures and 4 returns planned, both domestic tourism will be revitalized and intercity cultural interaction will increase."
TOURISTIC STOPS IN MALATYA AND YOLÇATI
Providing information about the route of the Touristic Diyarbakır Express, Minister Uraloğlu stated that the train will depart from Ankara at 13:55 and will make a 3-hour stop in Malatya. Uraloğlu said, "During this time, passengers will be able to visit Malatya's historical and cultural sites. The planned arrival time in Diyarbakır is 16:23. On the return journey, our train will depart from Diyarbakır at 12:30 and will make a 4-hour stop at the Yolçatı station in Elazığ. The estimated arrival time in Ankara will be 15:52. Thus, passengers will have the opportunity to see the region's cultural texture during the breaks in Malatya and Yolçatı," he stated.
CULTURAL ROUTES MEET THE RAILS
Uraloğlu emphasized the importance of touristic train services in revitalizing regional tourism, stating, "With these journeys, we are not only providing passengers the opportunity to travel from one city to another but also offering them the chance to experience the journey itself. The Touristic Diyarbakır Express is a project where culture meets the rails."
