In Thailand, 64-year-old Arrom Arunroj was attacked by a 4-meter python in her outdoor kitchen. The creature, which she initially mistook for a lizard, turned out to be a giant snake. Arrom screamed for help for two hours before her neighbor heard her. When the police arrived, the woman had been battling the snake for four hours. The rescue efforts were challenging. Arrom said, "The snake was waiting for me to die, I just prayed and tried to stay alive." While python sightings are common in the area, attacks on humans are rare.
A 64-year-old woman, Arrom Arunroj, in Thailand was attacked by a 4-meter python while washing dishes in her outdoor kitchen. Initially mistaking the creature for a lizard, it turned out to be a giant snake.
Arrom shouted for help for two hours. Her neighbor heard her and called the police, but by the time help arrived, the woman had been struggling with the python for four hours. The police made great efforts to rescue her.
After the incident, Arrom was taken to the hospital and said, "The snake wouldn't let go of me. It was waiting for me to die so it could eat me. I just prayed and tried to stay alive,"
A police official stated, "The elderly woman was being constricted by a python weighing more than 20 kilograms. It took more than 30 minutes to rescue her."
Although reticulated pythons are common in Thailand, it is rare for them to attack humans. These snakes are not venomous, but they kill their prey by constricting and suffocating them.
This incident is one of the recent python attacks in the region. Last month, a woman in Indonesia was found swallowed by a giant python.
