A newborn baby boy, thrown into the ventilation shaft of an apartment in Kütahya, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The baby's mother, 20-year-old E.Y., and father, 22-year-old M.G., who had concealed her pregnancy from her family, were detained by the police.

Upon receiving a report of a baby crying from the ventilation shaft of an apartment on Kelebek Street in İstiklal Neighborhood, action was taken. Health, fire, and police teams were dispatched to the scene following a call made to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS A BABY IN THE BAG
Teams determined that there was a baby inside a bag in the ventilation shaft of the apartment. The male baby, who was found to be alive and rescued by the fire department from the ventilation shaft, was taken to Kütahya City Hospital by ambulance.
PARENTS IDENTIFIED
It was learned that the health condition of the baby, who was taken to the intensive care unit, remained serious. In the investigation conducted by the police teams, it was determined that the baby's mother was E.Y. (20), who resides on the first floor of the apartment, and the father was M.G. (22).
SHE HID HER PREGNANCY FROM HER FAMILY
Two women living in the same apartment with mother E.Y. and father M.G. were detained by the police. It was learned that E.Y., who hid her pregnancy from her family, gave birth to the baby in the bathroom early yesterday morning and placed it in a plastic bag before throwing it into the apartment's ventilation shaft.
