In the 2026 KPSS Secondary Education exam, a candidate in Istanbul's Avcılar district confused the same-named Abdulkadir Uztürk Primary School and Middle School, which are next to each other but on different streets; despite running to the other building, the candidate was not admitted to the exam because the doors closed at 10:00. Another candidate who arrived 1 minute after the doors closed was also unable to enter.
The 2026 KPSS Secondary Education exam, organized by ÖSYM and applied for by 2 million 985 thousand 438 candidates, has begun. In Avcılar, a candidate who confused the exam building arrived at the school where he was supposed to take the exam but was not allowed inside because the exam had started. Some candidates were also not admitted to the exam because they were late.
The KPSS Secondary Education exam started at 10:15. Candidates who were searched before entering the exam halls were not allowed to enter with watches, phones, or jewelry. The 15-minute rule was again applied before the exam, and the doors closed at 10:00. In Avcılar, Abdulkadir Uztürk Primary School and Secondary School, which are next to each other but on different streets and have the same name, were confused by candidates.
CONFUSED TWO SCHOOLS WITH THE SAME NAME
A candidate who, after entering the secondary school building he arrived at at the last moment, realized he needed to enter the adjacent primary school building was left in a difficult situation. Although the candidate, who was removed from the hall, ran to the other building, he could not enter because the door had closed.
Another candidate arrived at Abdulkadir Uztürk Secondary School 1 minute after the door closed. However, because the closed door was not opened, this candidate also could not take the exam.
A PARKED VEHICLE LOCKED TRAFFIC
A driver parked on Namık Kemal Street next to the same street caused traffic congestion around the school. Because of the vehicle of a candidate believed to be taking the exam, İETT's Başakşehir bus could not turn around, and traffic was locked.
People nearby moved the car by hand to clear the traffic. While the vehicle was moved to the side of the street, the bus also passed along the road.
