New details have emerged in the murder of Binnaz Eriş, the mother of CHP council member Serkan Eriş, who was determined to have been killed under the guise of a fire in the Süleymanpaşa district of Tekirdağ. It was found that she was stabbed after having her throat cut, and then the house was set on fire. The niece of her brother, who stole gold worth approximately 1 million TL, has been taken into custody.
New details have emerged in the investigation into the murder of Binnaz Eriş, who was killed under the guise of a fire in Tekirdağ's Süleymanpaşa district. Eriş's funeral was held after the prayer at Ortaca Mosque and she was buried in the Old City Cemetery.
A BURNED WOMAN WAS FOUND
In the incident that occurred on Öğretmenler Street in the Hürriyet neighborhood of Süleymanpaşa, it was determined during the examinations conducted by the fire department teams who entered the house upon a fire report that a woman had lost her life.
IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE MOTHER OF A CHP COUNCIL MEMBER
In the examination conducted by the police teams at the scene, it was determined that the deceased woman was Binnaz Eriş, the mother of Serkan Eriş, a CHP council member of Süleymanpaşa, who was killed by being slashed and stabbed, and then the house was set on fire.
HER BROTHER'S DAUGHTER WAS DETAINED
As part of the investigation carried out by the Tekirdağ Provincial Police Department, the surrounding security cameras were examined. Based on the findings obtained, a woman identified as İ.Ç., who is said to be the niece of the elderly woman, was detained. It was claimed that the suspect confessed to committing the murder during her statement at the police station.
SHE TOOK THE GOLD AND SET THE HOUSE ON FIRE AFTER THE MURDER
According to the information reflected in the investigation file, it was alleged that the suspect took approximately 1 million TL worth of gold and some cash from the house after the incident, and then returned to the scene to pour cologne and set the house on fire. Additionally, it was determined that Binnaz Eriş's mobile phone was thrown near a trash container at a different location.
CHP COUNCIL MEMBER STRUGGLED TO STAND
A funeral prayer was held for Binnaz Eriş after the noon prayer at Ortaca Mosque. Relatives and many citizens attended the funeral prayer. It was observed that Council Member Serkan Eriş struggled to stand while receiving condolences. Binnaz Eriş's funeral was buried in the Old City Cemetery after the funeral prayer. It was reported that the detained suspect would be referred to the courthouse and that the investigation was ongoing in multiple directions.
