The global economic crisis has led to the closure of many companies in Turkey, with the latest addition to the list being Mavi Ay Yatak, which has been operating for 45 years. The company, which was selected from among 3,600 firms across Turkey and won the SME and Entrepreneurship Award, has declared bankruptcy after previously breaking export records.
Mavi Ay Yatak, one of Turkey's long-established mattress manufacturers, has come to the brink of bankruptcy after experiencing financial difficulties. The company, which has been operating for 45 years, has applied for concordat and received a temporary injunction decision.
According to a report on CNBC-e; the Bursa 1st Commercial Court granted a 3-month temporary concordat period for Mavi Ay Yatak, as well as for Turkuaz Yatak Baza Seating Groups, Ada Yatak Baza, Beyrut Engineering, and King Protrade Textile. During this period, the companies will try to strengthen their financial structures by reaching agreements with their creditors.
MADE A NAME FOR ITSELF IN THE EUROPEAN MARKET
Based in Bursa, Mavi Ay Yatak operated under the Turkuaz Yatak Baza company. The firm had made a name for itself in the European market by exporting to countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and France. Founded in 1980, the company was recognized as the first manufacturer of zippered mattress covers in Turkey.

Continuing its growth with second-generation management, the company was selected from among 3,600 firms across Turkey in a short time and won the SME and Entrepreneurship Award.
