In Adana, a father and his baby, who were trapped on the 13th floor of an apartment building due to a fire, were rescued by construction worker Muhammet Figen (23), who used a freight elevator. A fire broke out on March 2 in an apartment on the 10th floor of a building in the Gültepe neighborhood of the Sarıçam district. Upon notification from the surrounding residents, fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the address. The father and his baby, who lived in the apartment on the 13th floor of the building, were trapped.

FIRE UNDER CONTROL

The freight elevator brought in to move items to the adjacent apartment was moved closer to the building. Muhammet Figen, who was working at a nearby construction site, took the freight elevator to the 13th floor. Figen rescued the father and baby by bringing them down in the elevator from where they were trapped. The fire was brought under control with the intervention of the fire department.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
