ADDRESS IDENTIFIED
Teams from the Kocaeli Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Unit determined that a suspect was hiding at an address in Izmit as part of their efforts to capture wanted individuals. The address was clarified as a result of technical and physical surveillance.
SPECIAL OPERATIONS PROVIDED SUPPORT
An operation was carried out at the identified address with the support of the Special Operations Department teams. The suspect was captured and taken into custody during the operation.
LIKE A ARMORY
During the searches conducted at the residence, 2 unlicensed pistols, 165 cartridges, 1 ballistic vest, 2 laptops, 3 mobile phones, and 1 SIM card were seized.
FAKE LAWYER IDENTITIES FOUND
Additionally, 2 fake lawyer identities were found during the operation. It is assessed that these identities may have been used by the suspect to evade identity checks or to present himself as belonging to a different profession. The seized documents have been taken for examination.
Legal action was taken against the detained suspect for the crimes of "Violation of Law No. 6136, Forgery in Official Documents, and Using Identity Information Belonging to Others." After his procedures at the police station, Murat E. was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court and sent to Kandıra Prison.
It has been learned that the investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
