The trial of 11 defendants, including 5 in custody, among whom is Ahmet Sungur, continues in Kırıkkale as part of the investigation into "extortion by coercion." The detained defendants Ahmet Sungur, U.B., S.A., O.U., C.Y., along with the non-detained defendant Ö.B. and the complainant C.S., were connected via SEGBİS. The non-detained defendants Y.N.Y., D.A., E.Y., Z.Ç., and M.S., along with the attorneys of the parties, were present in the courtroom.
RELEASED
The court panel took the statements of the defendants, witnesses, and attorneys. As a result of the evaluation, it was decided to release Ahmet Sungur, U.B., S.A., O.U., and C.Y. under judicial control with a travel ban. The hearing was postponed to February 26.
WHAT HAPPENED?
As part of the investigation, a total of 11 suspects, including former Mayor Ahmet Sungur, were detained on September 19, 2025, and Sungur along with 4 others were arrested. In the indictment prepared by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a prison sentence of 5 to 10 years was requested for the defendants for the crime of "extortion by coercion." For Z.Ç. and E.S., a prison sentence of 2.5 to 5 years was requested for aiding. The indictment was accepted by the 1st Heavy Criminal Court.
