Economic experts indicate that a decrease in fuel prices is inevitable due to the global downward trend in oil prices and the appreciation of the local currency. HOW ARE FUEL PRICES DETERMINED?
According to the Petroleum Market Law, a Free Pricing System for fuel has been in effect since January 1, 2005.
With this system, fuel distribution companies are free to determine the depot sales price according to different pricing policies, and dealers also apply the maximum pump sales prices recommended to them by the distribution companies. Dealers are also free to apply their own pump sales prices according to the competitive conditions of their region.
In Turkey, retail sales prices are determined considering competitive conditions.
