Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç made statements during a live broadcast regarding the call for disarmament by the terrorist organization PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan.
"DISARMAMENT INCLUDES ALL GROUPS"
Delivering critical messages, Tunç said, "After the speech made by Mr. Bahçeli in his group talk, a new study began here. Of course, they went to İmralı three times, and the DEM delegation held discussions."
Stating that "At the end of the third meeting, they shared the terrorist organization's leader's statement regarding the terrorist organization with the public. They shared it in both Turkish and Kurdish, and we saw the statement," Tunç added, "It is clear that this statement is addressed to the terrorist organization by its founder, the leader of the terrorist organization. The addressee here is entirely the terrorist organization; disarmament includes the disarmament of all groups. And it is a request, a call from the leader of the terrorist organization for PKK to dissolve itself," he expressed.
"THE STATE WILL DO WHAT IS NECESSARY"
Of course, how this call will be responded to and how the addressee will evaluate it will certainly be observed in the upcoming process. Here, we are talking about a Turkey without terrorism. The Republic of Turkey is a rule of law state. Therefore, a rule of law state does not accept violence and does what is necessary. We have been saying this from the beginning. A democratic state does not accept terrorism. Demands are not made through violence in a democratic state. Freedom of thought and expression does not include violence.
"WE HAVE ELIMINATED DISCRIMINATION"
Stating, "We have eliminated discrimination, especially under the leadership of our President, we have equipped every province of our country with works without discrimination," Tunç said, "We built a university in Hakkari, we built one in Sinop, we also built an airport in Yüksekova and an airport in Çaycuma. While bringing investment to those areas, we sadly experienced how the terrorist organization seized those construction sites and martyr our teachers and doctors we sent there. We lived these pains together, and of course, in terms of democratization, we have also eliminated the issues that were particularly criticized one by one, especially the expansion of fundamental rights and freedoms," he stated.
