An Australian dentist has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for drugging young women he met online and raping them. He will spend at least 13 years behind bars. 34-year-old Farzem Mehrabi committed more than 20 offenses against six women aged 18 to 22 whom he met on dating apps in 2022. Despite being caught on security cameras adding MDMA and methamphetamine to one of his victim's water glasses, he vehemently denied the charges. In court, it was revealed that Mehrabi lied to the women about his age and living situation. Although he was 31 years old, he claimed to be 24 and said he lived with an elderly couple who were family friends, despite actually living with his family. Judge Troy Sweeney stated, "As a handsome, educated, promising dentist, you believed you had the right to live this way." One of the victims panicked and jumped out of the car when she began to feel the effects of the drugs while returning home in Mehrabi's car and sought help from security personnel. Another woman recounted waking up in Mehrabi's bed the next morning after having only four drinks, with no memory of the night. She found bruises, scratches, and marks on her neck. The judge described Mehrabi's crimes as "a complete disregard and a desire to manipulate and control another person." It was learned that Mehrabi was a medical student at Notre Dame University and aimed to become a surgeon. Mehrabi, who was reported by seven women, was found guilty of sexual assault against five women, drug offenses, and choking to the point of restricting breathing. Although Mehrabi claimed that all relationships were consensual, the jury deemed him an unreliable witness who constantly lied.
