In Kastamonu, a disabled woman who wanted to buy a cup set for her daughter online was defrauded of 1,690 lira. While the persons tried to have another 16,050 lira sent to their own bank accounts, her neighbor who noticed the situation saved the disabled woman from being defrauded further.

SHE PLACED THE ORDER VIA WHATSAPP

According to the information obtained, 58-year-old physically disabled E.A., living in Kastamonu, wanted to buy a cup set through an online shopping site where she had shopped four years ago. E.A., who ordered the cup via "WhatsApp", made a payment of one thousand lira. Later, the persons who told E.A. that she had made an incomplete payment asked her to send another 690 lira. E.A. also sent the 690 TL to the bank account the persons specified.

THEY DIRECTED HER TO MOBILE BANKING WITH THE PROMISE OF A REFUND

The persons then contacted E.A. and told her that she had sent the money to the wrong account. The persons called E.A. and guided her through the mobile banking application, trying to defraud her of another 16,050 lira.
