In relation to the case of Mevlüt Ozan Atlar, who went missing in İzmir in 2011 at the age of 19, 5 suspects were detained in Karaman. The owner of the farm where Atlar worked at that time was arrested for "intentional murder."
Ayşe Atlar, who resides in İzmir, filed a missing person report with the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in 2011 regarding her son’s disappearance. During the search efforts conducted by the gendarmerie at that time, no trace of Atlar was found. After Ayşe Atlar participated in a television program last year to find her son, the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reopened the case and determined that the last place Atlar was seen was Karaman.
5 SUSPECTS DETAINED
Under the coordination of the Karaman Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a meticulous six-month investigation was initiated to clarify the missing person case. As a result of field studies, technical surveillance, and HTS examinations conducted by the Karaman Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch Homicide Bureau, K.S., the owner of the farm where Atlar worked at that time, along with I.S., T.Ö., H.E., and A.Ç., who are believed to be related to the incident, were detained in simultaneous operations carried out in Karaman, Ankara, and Antalya.
FARM OWNER ARRESTED FOR 'INTENTIONAL MURDER'
Among the detained suspects, K.S. was arrested and sent to prison for the crime of "intentional murder," while the other suspects were released under judicial control.
