The third hearing of the Newborn Gang case continues on the second day. In the case where 46 defendants are being tried, Dr. Ali Dirik, the Responsible Manager of Güney Hospital, stated, "I will tell everything. If there is any fraud at Güney Hospital, the person responsible is Ayşe Müzeyyen Yurtoğlu. Yurtoğlu reached Memişoğlu using her political connections. There are HTS records. You will see whether Memişoğlu called Ayşe Müzeyyen or not."
The third hearing of the case, in which 46 defendants, 25 of whom are detained, are being tried for allegedly transferring emergency patients of newborns in Istanbul to private hospitals they had previously agreed upon, leading to deaths and unjust profits, continues on the second day.
The hearing, held in the conference hall of the courthouse by the Bakırköy 22nd High Criminal Court, was attended by 25 detained defendants, including Dr. Fırat Sarı, who is alleged to be the leader of an organized crime group, as well as some defendants who are not detained, complainants, and lawyers. The courtroom, which was followed by a large number of press members, was under heavy security measures by police teams. During the hearing, the defenses and requests of the defendants against the witness statements from the previous day are being taken.
"YURTOĞLU STOPPED ME WHILE I WAS TRYING TO SEND FIRAT SARI"
According to the information conveyed by journalist Emrullah Erdinç, Dr. Ali Dirik, the Responsible Manager of Güney Hospital, is giving his statement in court. In his defense, Ali Dirik stated, "The hospital owner is being tried without detention. You can determine from the HTS records that he is not involved in anything. I had a discussion with Fırat Sarı; while I was trying to send him, Ayşe Müzeyyen Yurtoğlu stopped me. Fırat Sarı said to me, 'Who are you?' We call him 'aunt.' He said, 'I will talk to the aunt, I will handle it.' While I was dealing with these, I am being tried for fraud. Has money been transferred to my account? Was there any pressure during the conversations? Müzeyyen Yurtoğlu said she made the agreement. The chief physician didn't even know about it." he said.
"MILLION-DOLLAR DEALS ARE GOING ON"
Dirik stated, "There are those with political power here. Million-dollar deals are going on. I will tell everything. The one playing with millions is herself. If there is fraud at Güney Hospital, the responsible person is Ayşe Müzeyyen Yurtoğlu." he said.
"YOU WILL SEE IF MEMİŞOĞLU CALLED AYŞE MÜZEYYEN OR NOT"
In the continuation of his defense, Ali Dirik said, "I will tell everything. Ayşe Müzeyyen Yurtoğlu reached Memişoğlu using her political channels. I was at the hospital, the phone rang. My manager said, Memişoğlu said something. When I couldn't explain, he said let me give it to the chief physician. I spoke. There are HTS records. You will see if Memişoğlu called Ayşe Müzeyyen or not." Dirik stated that he reached the District Health Director Eşref Kaya to prevent fraud and conveyed the situation to him.
"AYŞE HAD TO FIRE FIRAT SARI"
Fırat Sarı's lawyer Aydın Mantar asked Dirik, "Can you explain how Fırat Sarı committed fraud? You say he will sell drugs together with Hüseyin Günerhan and Ayşe Müzeyyen Yurtoğlu, and that you prevented this. But you are also the one who said earlier that Hüseyin was fired for stealing drugs. Isn't this a contradiction?" Dirik replied, "Mr. Lawyer, Ayşe had to fire Fırat Sarı because I was going to leave the job. Did I explain it clearly? He was caught between two rivers."
