For the first time since the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, there has been an attack on Israel from Lebanon. In this most intense attack carried out by Hezbollah since the ceasefire established between Lebanon and Israel on November 27, 2024, 6 missiles were used, and retaliation from Tel Aviv was swift. The Israeli army's attacks on Hezbollah targets resulted in numerous explosions in the capital Beirut and its surroundings.
While Israel and the US continue their attacks on Iran, the Israeli army claimed that missiles were fired from Lebanon.
A FIRST IN WAR
In a statement from the army spokesperson, it was noted that sirens were activated in the northern part of the country after the detection of missiles fired from Lebanon. This was the first attack on Israel from Lebanon since the US and Israel began their attacks on Iran.
THE MOST VIOLENT ATTACK SINCE THE CEASEFIRE
In response to a question regarding the issue from the Israeli army spokesperson, it was stated that the missiles fired from Lebanon were intercepted. Israeli media reported that this was the most violent attack carried out by Hezbollah since the ceasefire established on November 27, 2024, between Lebanon and Israel. On the other hand, Channel 12 television, which broadcasts in Israel, reported that 6 missiles were fired from Lebanon. Hezbollah had indicated that they would carry out an attack in a condolence message published following the assassination of Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
ISRAEL'S RETALIATION WAS NOT DELAYED
While the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran raised concerns about regional conflict, another step came from Israel that would increase these concerns. In a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), it was reported that in response to the missile attacks from Lebanon to the northern part of the country, Hezbollah targets across Lebanon had begun to be struck.
"HEZBOLLAH IS DRAGGING LEBANON TO DESTRUCTION"
It was reported that the IDF was conducting attacks on Hezbollah targets, stating, "Hezbollah is targeting Israeli civilians on behalf of the Iranian regime and dragging Lebanon to destruction." The statement emphasized that the Israeli army is prepared for unexpected situations, stating, "IDF forces are prepared for such a scenario and other situations that may be encountered on different fronts under the 'Operation Lion's Roar'."
NUMEROUS EXPLOSIONS OCCURRED IN LEBANON
In videos shared on social media, explosions were seen occurring in many areas, especially in the capital Beirut and its surroundings, with smoke rising. The panic experienced by the local population was also reflected in amateur cameras.
