A dawn operation was carried out against the CHP-led Mersin Yenişehir and Bolu municipalities. A detention order was issued for 30 people, including the deputy mayor, for the crimes of "bribery and interference in tenders" at Yenişehir Municipality. In Bolu Municipality, Deputy Mayor Leyla Beykoz and CHP City Council Member Aydan Özdemir were detained.
Operations targeting municipalities affiliated with the CHP are ongoing. New operations were carried out this morning against the Yenişehir Municipality in Mersin and the Bolu Municipality.
OPERATION AGAINST MERSIN YENISEHIR MUNICIPALITY
An operation was conducted against the Yenişehir Municipality of Mersin for bribery and corruption in tenders. It has been learned that arrest procedures are ongoing, and there are detention orders for 30 people, including deputy mayors.
DETENTION ORDER FOR 30 PEOPLE
According to the information received, teams from the Provincial Police Department, coordinated by the Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, conducted an operation against the CHP-affiliated Yenişehir Municipality for corruption in tenders, bribery, and extortion. It has been learned that a search was also conducted at the municipality in the operation where detention orders were issued for approximately 30 people.
INCLUDES DEPUTY MAYORS
It has been claimed that among those who have been issued detention orders within the scope of the operation are deputy mayors, department heads, and company officials.
OPERATION AGAINST BOLU MUNICIPALITY
Bolu Deputy Mayor Leyla Beykoz and CHP Municipal Council Member Aydan Özdemir were detained by gendarmerie this morning.
TANJU ÖZCAN WAS ARRESTED LAST MONTH
As part of the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding 'extortion through coercion', Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan and Deputy Mayor Süleyman Can were arrested last month. On April 6, CHP council member Cihan Tutal, Financial Affairs Director Naim Ayhan, and BOLSEV Foundation Member Ali Sarıyıldız were also arrested as part of the investigation.
2 PEOPLE IN CUSTODY
As part of the investigation, Bolu Deputy Mayor Leyla Beykoz and CHP Municipal Council Member Aydan Özdemir were also detained this morning. Beykoz and Özdemir were taken to the Provincial Gendarmerie Command after a health check.
