Iran's former religious leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a US-Israel attack, is being laid to rest in his birthplace of Mashhad, following ceremonies in Tehran, Qom, Najaf, and Karbala. After the funeral prayer led by Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani, Khamenei will be buried at the Imam Reza Shrine, where thousands of attendees chanted anti-US and anti-Israel slogans. Due to ongoing threats of attack, Iranian warplanes were seen flying around the ceremony area.

FINAL CEREMONY IN HIS BIRTHPLACE
After the funeral prayer led by Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani, Khamenei will be buried in a special area allocated to him at the Imam Reza Shrine. Following ceremonies in Tehran, Qom, Najaf, and Karbala, a funeral ceremony was also held in his birthplace, Mashhad.
HIS COFFIN PARADED AMONG THOUSANDS
Numerous Iranians attending the ceremony filled Shirazi and Nevvab Safavi streets, holding various flags. Anti-US and anti-Israel slogans were chanted during the ceremony. The vehicle carrying Khamenei's coffin was paraded among the people.
IRANIAN FIGHTER JETS ON ALERT
Due to ongoing US attacks on Iran during the funeral ceremony, Iranian fighter jets conducted flights around the ceremony area.
