STRUCK BY AN "UNKNOWN OBJECT"
In a statement from the ship's operator, Maran Tankers Management, it was noted that the Greek-flagged vessel named "Maran Homer," which was expected to enter the Caspian Pipeline Consortium Terminal in Russia's Novorossiysk Port to receive Kazakh oil, was struck by an "unknown object" in Russian territorial waters.
The statement indicated that the crew was safe, and due to the ship not being loaded, it did not pose a danger to the environment despite sustaining minor material damage. The statement also mentioned that the ship had departed from Novorossiysk Port.
