In Bolu Kartalkaya, a dialogue has emerged between a guest who stayed at the Grand Kartal Hotel, where a fire tragedy occurred resulting in the loss of 78 lives, and the hotel manager, highlighting the fire risk a year ago. The conversation between the two once again revealed that the disaster was foreseeable. Here are the statements from that conversation...

In the Grand Kartal Hotel at the Kartalkaya Ski Resort in Bolu, which hosts tens of thousands of people every year, a fire broke out, resulting in the deaths of 78 people and injuries to dozens more. This became one of the deadliest hotel fires recorded in Turkey's history.

The wooden interior and exterior cladding of the hotel accelerated the fire, while the failure of the alarm and smoke detectors, along with the fire escapes being located inside, led to guests being caught off guard in their sleep by the flames and thick smoke, causing them to lose their lives while trying to escape in fear and panic.

As discussions about authority continue between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Bolu Municipality regarding the fire, a conversation from a year ago between a guest who stayed at the hotel and the hotel manager once again revealed that the disaster was imminent.

A user commenting on the Grand Kartal Hotel's Instagram account shared the dialogue that took place with the hotel manager during their stay a year ago.

HOTEL MANAGER: OUR HOTEL IS AUTHENTIC, WE WILL ESTABLISH SUCH A SYSTEM IN THE FUTURE

Here is the dialogue that once again revealed the disaster was imminent:

"I stayed at this hotel last year and I personally told the hotel manager, 'why are there no fire extinguishing sensors and sprinklers in the rooms of a hotel that is identified with such red pine wood?' The hotel manager's response was, 'Sir, since our hotel is an authentic 60-year-old hotel, we will establish such a system in the future, God willing,' and then it burned. May God grant paradise to those who have died."
