23-year-old Bahar Biçer, who participated in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, moved the audience to tears with her life story. Biçer said, "While I was experiencing kidney failure, my biological mother did not give me her kidney. The mother who raised me gave a test to donate her kidney, but hers was also not compatible."
23-year-old Bahar Biçer, who undergoes dialysis treatment two days a week, moved everyone to tears with her life story on the Kim Milyoner Olmak İster program aired on the evening of January 18.
SHE HAD ANOREXIA AND LOST HER KIDNEY
Participating in the competition from Bursa Yenişehir, Bahar Biçer sincerely shared traumatic details from her childhood and youth. She stated that during her high school years, she fell into the belief that "she needed to be thin to be loved," and expressed that she developed anorexia nervosa, dropping to 29 kilograms. She mentioned that she came close to death during this process, but the disease caused permanent damage leading to kidney failure.
"MY BIOLOGICAL MOTHER DID NOT CHOOSE TO BE A DONOR"
One of the biggest turning points in Biçer's life was her process with her biological family. Adopted as a baby, Bahar explained that when she needed a kidney transplant, she reached out to her biological mother but did not receive the support she expected. Biçer said, "When we asked someone who did not choose to be a mother for a kidney, the result was negative. My adoptive mother, however, underwent tests to be a mother for the second time, but her kidney was also not compatible."
"WHAT MATTERS IS TO RAISE WITH LOVE"
Bahar stated about her adoptive mother, who took her in and raised her, "What matters is not to give birth to a person, but to be able to raise a person with love," emphasizing that she was by her side at every moment.
