Durbay was bid farewell on her final journey with a funeral attended by many people. It has been revealed that journalist Ebru Küçükaydın, who claimed there was an affair between Durbay and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel during Durbay's cancer treatment and was later sentenced to prison in a lawsuit, suffered a heart attack.

In the lawsuit filed against journalist Ebru Küçükaydın and the Editor-in-Chief of the news site, Zehra Cücü, the Manisa 7th Criminal Court found that defendant Ebru Küçükaydın had committed the crime of insulting a public official due to her duty and sentenced her to 1 year, 9 months, and 25 days in prison.
The court also decided to sentence Zehra Cücü, who was serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the same site, to 1 year, 9 months, and 25 days in prison for the same crime.
