Moments have emerged showing the rescue of a worker trapped among flames meters high in a fire that broke out on the roof of an 8-story building in Bursa. It was determined that the fire started due to the heat generated by flammable polyester and tar materials used during renovation. The flames were brought under control after more than an hour of intervention, while 2 workers affected by smoke were taken to the hospital. A total of 17 fire trucks participated in the extinguishing efforts.
A fire broke out on the top floor of the 8-story apartment building on Milli Street in Millet Neighborhood, Yıldırım district, around 11:30 AM.
FLAMES ENGULFED THE ROOF
According to reports, flames that rose during renovation suddenly engulfed the building's roof. A large number of firefighters, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the area following the alert. Two workers trapped in the building were rescued by a ladder-equipped fire truck, and those moments were captured by bystanders with a mobile phone camera.
THEIR HEALTH STATUS IS GOOD
The two rescued workers and two others affected by smoke were taken to nearby hospitals after the initial intervention by medical teams. It was reported that the health status of four individuals is also good.
GREAT PANIC ENSUED
The black smoke rising from the fire was visible from many points in the district, causing great panic in the area. The flames were brought under control by the intervention of the fire teams. The teams are continuing their cooling efforts.
An investigation has been initiated regarding the cause of the fire.
