DIED FOLLOWING CHILDBIRTH
The incident occurred at a private hospital in Şanlıurfa. According to allegations, Edanur Yaman gave birth at a private hospital on July 14, 2026, at 11:30 AM. After a cesarean section, her health deteriorated, and she was referred to Harran University Hospital on July 15, 2026, for further examination and treatment. Yaman, who was placed in intensive care, passed away around 01:00 AM today despite all medical interventions.
DOCTOR ARRESTED
Following the incident, a judicial investigation was launched by the Şanlıurfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Within the scope of the investigation, gynecologist and obstetrician Dr. Münevver Zehra Davutoğlu was taken into custody. After police procedures, she was referred to the duty court and arrested on charges of 'causing death by negligence' and sent to prison.
It was stated that the precise cause of death will be determined through forensic and medical expert examinations, and the investigation is being conducted comprehensively.
