The President of the Association of Tobacco Shopkeepers, Erol Dündar, announced that there will be another price increase for cigarettes, which have already seen a rise of at least 5 lira with the new year. Dündar stated during a broadcast, "There will be no increase in alcohol prices. However, a 5 lira increase in cigarette prices is expected in March."
With the first month of the new year, cigarettes have been added to the products that have seen consecutive price increases; the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) has risen by 7.56%, and this increase has pushed prices up for many product groups.
After a price increase of at least 5 lira for cigarettes, another increase is on the horizon. Erol Dündar, the President of the Tobacco Retailers Association, spoke about the price increases for alcohol and cigarettes.

Dündar stated in an interview with Elips News that "There will be no increase in alcoholic beverages. However, a 5 lira increase in cigarette prices is expected in March."
HE WARNED ABOUT FAKE ALCOHOL DEATHS
Dündar also expressed that the recent deaths due to the consumption of fake alcohol pose a significant threat to public health.
