The Ministry of Trade has prepared a new regulation regarding the high and complex commission fees charged by restaurants on food delivery platforms. With the new implementation, platforms will be required to display all fees, such as commissions, courier, advertising, and visibility fees deducted from restaurants, in detail on the seller panel.
CONSUMERS WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO SEE THE FEES ITEM BY ITEM
Additionally, consumers will be able to see which items make up the total amount they paid on the order screen. It will also be prohibited to charge restaurants extra fees for basic services such as taking orders electronically, payment processes, and infrastructure. Restaurants that refuse to participate in campaigns will not face any penalties.
PLATFORMS HAVE BEEN GIVEN TIME UNTIL APRIL 1
According to the regulation, the commission calculation has also been clarified. According to a report by Barış Şimşek from Sabah; when no discount is applied, the commission will be taken from the main price of the product, while in discounted sales, the actual amount paid by the customer will be taken as the basis. Platforms have been given time until April 1, 2026, to comply with the new rules.
