After being shot dead in Burdur, Kübra Yapıcı's body was first buried in soil and then burned; a part of it was found in Antalya's Korkuteli Dam. It was reported that the body parts, taken to the morgue after examination, will later be sent to the forensic medicine institution.
The lifeless body of Kübra Yapıcı (30), who lived in Antalya and had been unreachable since April 30, was found burned last night during operations by the teams.
KILLED, BURIED, BURNED
The investigation revealed that Yapıcı was shot dead, then buried, and later exhumed from the burial site and her body was burned. While İlyas Umut D. confessed to the incident, during a nighttime operation, the suspect Ataberk S. was also caught and taken into custody by the teams.
INVESTIGATIONS LAUNCHED FOLLOWING CONFESSION
In the investigation initiated by the Bucak Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, after İlyas Umut D. confessed that part of the body was thrown into the Korkuteli Dam, teams from the Burdur Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Korkuteli District Gendarmerie Command began a search operation in the area. While the search that lasted until the evening hours yielded no results, efforts continued in the morning.
PART OF THE BODY FOUND IN THE DAM
As a result of the operations, a part of Kübra Yapıcı's body was found in the dam. It was reported that after the examination by the teams, the fragments of Yapıcı's body, taken to the Bucak State Hospital morgue, would later be sent to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute.
HE LIED IN HIS FIRST STATEMENT
İlyas Umut Dalğar, taken into custody, stated in his first statement that he left Kübra Yapıcı in front of an open market. However, during the police teams' field work, it was revealed that the market was closed at the time Dalğar provided. The suspect, who gave contradictory statements, later confessed to the murder.
In his statement, Dalğar recounted that Kübra Yapıcı was taken to a forested area in Burdur allegedly because of a debt to Ata Berk Sezen, where she was shot dead.
HE DESCRIBED THE MURDER AT THE SCENE LIKE THIS
In the released discovery footage, İlyas Umut Dalğar was seen describing the murder in detail at the scene. Dalğar said, 'He shot her in the head while she was sleeping. He took her phone. Then he buried her there. After that, he took me all the way to Istanbul. We buried the gun along the road. Then he returned and burned her. There is even a burn mark on his arm. Since I didn't do anything, I have nothing with me.'
In response to the police's question, 'Did you wrap her in a blanket or something?' the suspect replied, 'I only wrapped her in a rug.'
"HE BURNED IT 2-3 TIMES, WE COLLECTED THE PIECES WITH A SHOVEL"
Dalğar also explained how the body was attempted to be disposed of during the discovery. The suspect stated, 'He poured gasoline and lit it. Maybe 3-4 hours, he burned it 2 times, 3 times here. Then we collected the pieces with the help of a shovel. Then we bagged them. We threw them into a swamp-like place.'
In line with the confession, the teams examining the scene reached burnt body fragments believed to belong to Kübra Yapıcı in the forest. It was determined that part of the body fragments were thrown into the dam waters.
