Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek and Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi discussed the steps to be taken against cyber fraud within the scope of the DOLUNAY Project. While it is planned to establish an Anti-Fraud Center within the Ministry of Interior, the new system aims to respond to fraud reports within the first 18 minutes. With artificial intelligence-supported analyses, suspicious money movements will be tracked instantly, and efforts will be made to prevent criminal proceeds from being transferred to other accounts.

A new era is beginning in the fight against fraud. The Ministries of Justice and Interior have begun preparations to establish an Anti-Fraud Center against cyber fraudsters targeting citizens' savings.

AN ANTI-FRAUD CENTER WILL BE ESTABLISHED

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek and Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi met within the scope of the DOLUNAY Project. During the meeting, measures to be taken against fraud crimes, legislative work, and cooperation between the two ministries were evaluated. The Anti-Fraud Center, planned to be established under the Ministry of Interior, will strengthen inter-institutional coordination in the fight against cyber fraud. Through the Center, the focus will be not only on catching suspects but also on tracing the money obtained through fraud.

TARGET OF RESPONDING TO FRAUD REPORTS WITHIN THE FIRST 18 MINUTES

The most striking detail of the new system was announced by Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi. Minister Çiftçi stated that they aim to respond to fraud reports within the first 18 minutes. Within the scope of the DOLUNAY Project, artificial intelligence-supported analyses will be used. Suspicious money movements will be tracked in real time, and mechanisms for blocking the relevant accounts will be swiftly implemented within the framework of legal processes. Thus, it is aimed to detect money obtained through fraud before it is transferred to different accounts.

BANK ACCOUNTS AND CRYPTO ASSETS WILL BE TRACKED

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek emphasized that catching suspects in fraud crimes is not sufficient on its own. Gürlek stated that the rapid transfer of money obtained from crime to different bank accounts, digital wallets, and crypto assets makes it difficult to remedy the grievances. With the DOLUNAY Project, it is aimed to detect these money movements instantly and prevent criminal proceeds from being transferred to other accounts.

POLICE, GENDARMERIE, MASAK, AND BANKS WILL WORK TOGETHER

The planned center will ensure that different institutions act jointly in the fight against fraud. Coordination among Chief Public Prosecutors' Offices, the Police, the Gendarmerie, the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), and the banking system will be strengthened. With this cooperation, the tracking of criminal proceeds and the implementation of necessary judicial measures will be accelerated.

"FRAUDULENTLY OBTAINED MONEY DOES NOT EVAPORATE INTO THIN AIR"

Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi drew attention to the importance of protecting fraud victims' money. In his statement, Minister Çiftçi used the following expressions: "Fraudulently obtained money does not evaporate into thin air. It changes hands between bank accounts and is transferred to digital wallets and crypto assets. Our goal is not only to catch criminals but also to protect our citizens' hard-earned money and years of savings." Minister Çiftçi also gave a message of determination against fraud networks, saying, "There is no compromise, no complacency, no stepping back in the fight against fraud!"

HARSH MESSAGE FROM GÜRLEK TO FRAUDSTERS

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek also stated that the fight against cyber fraud will continue with all the state's means. In his statement, Gürlek used the following expressions: "Just as in the fight we carry out against criminal organizations in our streets, we will not give cyber fraud networks any breathing room! Wherever the crime is committed, we will resolutely continue our fight with all the means of our state!"
