During the infrastructure work carried out by ASAT teams in Antalya, a passerby noticed bone fragments among the soil. Upon reporting the situation to the excavation teams, the work was halted and a notification was made to the 112 Emergency Call Center. The police teams that arrived took security measures in the area and closed the street to pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The collected bones will be sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution for examination.
During the infrastructure work carried out by the Antalya Water and Wastewater Administration (ASAT) teams affiliated with the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, bones believed to belong to a human were found.
A PASSERBY NOTICED
During the excavation work carried out by ASAT teams on 76th Street in the Kızılsaray neighborhood of the Muratpaşa district, a passerby noticed bone fragments among the soil. After this person reported the situation to the excavation teams, the work was halted and a notification was made to the 112 Emergency Call Center. The police teams that arrived took security measures in the area and closed the street to pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
WILL BE SENT TO THE FORENSIC MEDICINE INSTITUTION
The crime scene investigation team collected the bone fragments believed to belong to a human during their initial work at the excavation site and placed them in evidence bags. Officials from the Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate also came to the area to conduct an examination. The provincial directorate officials carried out detailed work on the soil at the excavation site due to the possibility that the bones might be historical remains. It was learned that the collected bones would be sent to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institution for examination.
"IT LOOKS LIKE HUMAN BONE"
Veysi Babacan, a resident of the area, stated, "While the ASAT teams were excavating with a digger, a passerby noticed the bones and reported the situation. We informed the security forces, and they came and checked. They collected the bones. They suspect they are human bones. It looks like human bone."
Adem Öztürk, the digger operator who carried out the excavation work, said, "When the bones came out, we stopped the work. There were quite a few bones. We called the police when we saw the bones. The police are coming to investigate."
