At a wedding in the Çaycuma district of Zonguldak, a person set a 49-year-old man on fire by pouring flammable liquid on him, claiming he had harassed and blackmailed his wife. The man, who suffered 40% burns on his body, was taken to the hospital, while the suspect was taken into custody.
In the Çaycuma district of Zonguldak, a person was seriously injured after allegedly being doused with a flammable substance and set on fire at a wedding.
40 PERCENT OF HIS BODY BURNED
In the village of Gökçetabaklar, V.B. (49), who was attending the wedding, called the 112 Emergency Call Center and reported that M.K. (46) had poured a flammable substance on him and set him on fire, causing burns on his body, and filed a complaint. Following the report, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. After initial medical intervention, V.B. was taken to Çaycuma State Hospital.
It was learned that V.B. has second-degree burns covering approximately 40 percent of his body and face, and his condition is life-threatening.
ALLEGATIONS OF "HARASSMENT AND BLACKMAIL" IN THE HORRIFIC INCIDENT
The suspect, M.K., was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams. It was learned that in his initial statement, M.K. claimed that his wife had been subjected to harassment and blackmail by V.B., and when they encountered each other at the wedding, he poured the thinner from his vehicle onto V.B. and then set him on fire.
