In the US state of California, a small plane crashed nose-first into a busy intersection shortly after takeoff due to engine failure. Three people, including a child, were injured in the crash, and the fact that the plane did not hit cars or nearby homes prevented a major disaster. An investigation has been launched into the crash, during which terrifying moments were experienced.

A small plane crashed into a busy intersection in San Jose, California, USA, shortly after takeoff. In the accident that occurred at around 15:10 local time on Saturday, October 17, the nose of the plane hit the asphalt while the tail section remained in the air.

IT REPORTED AN ENGINE FAILURE AND CRASHED MINUTES LATER

The pilot of the Cessna 177 aircraft that took off from Reid-Hillview Airport reported experiencing a problem with the engine shortly after takeoff.

Minutes after the pilot reported the failure, the plane crashed at the intersection of Capitol Expressway and Excalibur Drive.

3 PEOPLE, INCLUDING A CHILD, WERE INJURED

Two adults and a child on board were injured in the crash. It was announced that the injuries of all three people, who were taken to the hospital by medical teams dispatched to the scene, were not life-threatening.

IT NARROWLY MISSED CARS AND HOUSES

Although the plane crashed into an intersection with heavy vehicle traffic, it did not hit any car, preventing a major disaster. It was reported that no one on the ground was injured in the crash, and nearby houses were not damaged either.

After the impact, a small-scale fuel leak occurred on the plane. Fire crews brought the leak under control, and traffic in the area was disrupted due to the accident.

FAA LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. While it was confirmed that the pilot reported an engine problem during the flight, the exact cause of the crash has not yet been announced.
