In the Amasra district of Bartın, 33 people were arrested in an investigation into sexual abuse of a 13-year-old child; the indictment, prepared regarding the incident considered to have occurred through connections established on social media, was accepted, and the trial process has begun.
The Bartın Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that 33 people have been arrested in the investigation into the 'Sexual abuse' of a 13-year-old girl living in the Amasra district, and the indictment prepared has been accepted by the Bartın 2nd Heavy Penal Court.
In a statement from the Bartın Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was said: "Upon allegations that a child born in 2013 residing in the Amasra district of Bartın province was subjected to sexual abuse, following a report made to law enforcement on 18.04.2026, our Bartın Chief Public Prosecutor's Office promptly initiated a comprehensive investigation. When the investigation file was submitted to our courthouse on April 28, 2026, considering the sensitivity and scope of the incident, the highest level of coordination was ensured by our judicial units and all necessary measures were taken promptly. Through meticulous work and digital evidence obtained, strong suspicion of crime was reached that our victim child was abused by individuals with whom she communicated via social media. In this context, an indictment was prepared on 08.05.2026 against 10 Children Drawn into Crime (SSÇ) and 26 suspects identified as having been involved in the act."
"THE TRIAL PROCESS HAS BEGUN" In the statement indicating that the trial has started at the heavy penal court, the following expressions were also included: "The prepared indictment has been accepted by the Bartın 2nd Heavy Penal Court, and the trial process has begun. Within the scope of the ongoing trial file, currently 9 SSÇ and 24 suspects, a total of 33 individuals, are under arrest, while judicial control provisions are applied for 3 individuals. Our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is following the legal process with determination and sensitivity to protect our victim child and to ensure the heaviest punishment of criminals before the law. Avoiding any disclosure that could reveal the victim's identity is of great importance for protecting the child's best interests."
