A 29-year-old female driver stopped in a traffic check in Bursa stalled police teams for minutes to avoid blowing into the breathalyzer. The driver, found to have 0.96 promil alcohol, reacted to the officer during the penalty process, saying, "Because of you, we'll give up the license. May you face God's wrath." The car, learned to be a company vehicle, was towed to the impound lot.
In Bursa, teams from the Provincial Police Department Traffic Supervision Branch stopped a car on suspicion during an alcohol checkpoint on Akademi Street in Odunluk Neighborhood. The 29-year-old female driver initially grabbed her phone without blowing into the breathalyzer.
"HEY BUDDY, EMERGENCY"
When the police handed her the breathalyzer, E.K. called her friend on the phone, saying "Hey buddy, emergency" and moved away from the officer. Trying to buy time, the intoxicated E.K. returned and asked the officer, "Can I say something? How will I get back to Istanbul?" In response to the officer saying, "There's nothing I can do, let's do the breathalyzer first, then I'll help you," E.K. said, "Help me with what? How will I get back to Istanbul after alcohol shows up? It's also a company car."
"I'M NOT A KARAMÜRSEL BASKET"
E.K.'s friend complained to the police officer, saying, "If alcohol shows up, do you impound the car too? What nonsense. Don't be ridiculous. I'm not a Karamürsel basket."
"I'M HAVING A PANIC ATTACK, IS IT BETTER FOR ME TO DIE?"
The police officer, who had become a symbol of patience, handed the breathalyzer to E.K. again to blow. In response, the intoxicated woman said, "I'm having a panic attack. I'll blow, brother. Do I have the right to breathe? Is my health less important than yours? There's no car you're waiting for. I'm having a panic attack, is it better for me to die? I'll give you the car too," and called someone again on her phone. When the police officer asked, "I'm asking you once more, ma'am, will you blow?", the intoxicated driver replied, "I can't hear you right now."
SHE WAS INTOXICATED, BLAMED THE POLICE
After long efforts, 29-year-old E.K. finally blew into the breathalyzer and blamed the police, saying, "Because of you, we'll give up the license. May you get what you deserve from God." The woman, who had 0.96 promil of alcohol, was penalized, and her car was towed to the impound lot.
