'HE PUNCHED ME HARD IN THE JAW'
Referring to a memory he had with Belhanda during training, Bjarnason said, 'Belhanda, who was the captain of Galatasaray, was transferred. I played the entire season, while he was mostly on the bench and injured. He had an angry demeanor. Five days before the first match of the 2022/23 season, we were playing 5-a-side in training. He took the ball, moved away from me, and got hit by someone else. Then I continued to pressure him. He turned and hit me in the groin, then punched me hard in the jaw. I fell to the ground. I got up to hit him, but the other players separated us. Coach Montella acted as if he hadn't seen what was happening. Belhanda was not brought into the game, he sat on a bench while we continued the training.'
'HE WAS WAITING FOR US WITH A KNIFE IN HIS HAND'
Continuing his words, the 37-year-old former footballer expressed that after their argument, Belhanda was waiting for them with a knife in his hand, saying, 'We went inside, and the vice president came to apologize on his behalf. I said I wasn't feeling well and that if I saw him in training, I would break his legs. He had argued with a Turkish footballer in our defense the previous season. He had been sent to the locker room. When we went inside after training, he was waiting for us with a knife in his hand. That's why I started to worry that he would attack me too. Then he apologized, but I didn't want to talk to him.'
