The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) condemned the situation, stating that riding on top of a subway train is already dangerous.

The footage shows a man with his pants down to his knees embracing another person, while a third individual is seen walking towards them. A user shared the moment with the note, "How is the MTA turning a blind eye to this incident?"
The scandalous images were captured on top of the number 7 train traveling on the Van Wyck Expressway.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) reacted strongly to the footage. MTA Communications Director Tim Minton stated, "Climbing on top of a subway train is already a dangerous and foolish act. But doing it with your pants down is pure madness. These irresponsible individuals are not even aware of the potential tragedies that could result from such actions and the consequences that workers will have to deal with," he said.
Last year, the MTA launched an awareness campaign to prevent people from riding on top of subway trains (subway surfing). In the first half of 2023, the number of people traveling outside the trains reached 450. This number was 262 in 2021.
Unfortunately, this dangerous "trend" is leading to serious consequences. Last month, a 14-year-old boy in Brooklyn fell from the F train and was struck by another train, resulting in his death. This was the first "subway surfing" related death of 2024.
Authorities are urging the public to be vigilant against such behaviors and to report similar situations to the authorities.
