With the rainfall decreasing its impact across the country, air temperatures are on the rise. In Istanbul, temperatures are approaching 20 degrees, while a drop is expected again starting Wednesday. The meteorology department has issued warnings for heavy rain and avalanche risks in some regions.
Heavy rainfall that has been affecting the country for days is temporarily decreasing, while air temperatures are rising again. Especially in the Marmara Region, the increase in temperatures is noteworthy, with thermometers in Istanbul expected to approach 20 degrees. However, this mild weather will not last long; a drop in temperatures is forecasted starting from Wednesday.
WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY TODAY
According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology, a very cloudy weather will dominate across Turkey. Rain is expected in the Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, and most parts of the Black Sea, as well as in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions. Additionally, heavy rain is expected in the eastern part of Balıkesir and around Sakarya, Bursa, and Bilecik.
Precipitation will mostly be in the form of rain and heavy rain. While thunderstorms are expected in some areas of the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts and Southeastern Anatolia, mixed rain and snow will be seen in the higher elevations of northeastern Eastern Anatolia.
AVALANCHE AND SNOW MELTING WARNING
On the other hand, there is an avalanche risk in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and in the high and sloped areas of Eastern Anatolia. Experts emphasize that citizens should be cautious against risks associated with snow melting.
TEMPERATURES WILL DROP AFTER WEDNESDAY
According to the weekly forecast of the Meteorology, air temperatures will start to decrease again from Wednesday after a short-term rise. It is expected that temperatures, which are around seasonal norms, will decrease after the middle of the week.
HOW WILL THE WEATHER BE TOMORROW (MARCH 6, MONDAY)?
Starting tomorrow, rainfall will decrease and will be seen in fewer provinces. Temperatures will continue to rise across the country. Partly cloudy weather will dominate in major cities. Temperatures are expected to be 18 degrees in Istanbul, 16 degrees in Ankara, and up to 20 degrees in Izmir and Antalya. In Bursa, the weather will be 19 degrees.
The wind is expected to blow lightly from the northeast in Istanbul, while it will be felt more strongly in Izmir. In Antalya, heavy rain showers will continue in some areas.
