IMM MANAGEMENT REQUESTS A 30% INCREASE IN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
In the agenda item prepared by the commission and sent to today's IMM Assembly meeting, it was requested that a 30% increase be made in public transportation, taxis, and school shuttles, effective from September 15. In this context, it was requested that the electronic full ticket be increased from 27 lira to 35 lira, and the monthly subscription fee for the Blue Card be raised from 2,120 lira to 2,748 lira.
THE CHEAPEST FERRY RIDE RISES TO 44.33 LIRA

MINIBUS "INDIBINDI" FARE WILL BE 32.50 LIRA
In minibuses, the fare for the shortest distance, referred to as "indibindi," will be increased from 25 lira to 32.50 lira for distances up to 4 kilometers, from 26 lira to 34 lira for distances between 4 and 7 kilometers, from 27 lira to 35 lira for distances between 7 and 11 kilometers, from 28 lira to 36 lira for distances between 11 and 15 kilometers, from 30 lira to 39 lira for distances between 15 and 20 kilometers, and the student fare will be increased from 16 lira to 21 lira.
FARES FOR TAXIS ARE INCREASING AS WELL
In taxis, it was requested that the initial fare be increased from 42 lira to 54.50 lira, the distance fare from 28 lira to 36.30 lira per kilometer, the time tariff fee from 350 lira to 453.71 lira per hour, and the short distance fare from 135 lira to 175 lira.
SCHOOL SHUTTLES WILL BE MOST AFFECTED
In school shuttle fees, it was requested that the fare for distances between 0 and 1 kilometer be increased from 2,605 lira to 3,376 lira, and the personnel shuttle fees be increased from 1,355 lira to 1,757 lira.
COMMENT FROM THE AK PARTY GROUP
The AK Party Group placed a dissenting opinion on the agenda item. The dissent stated, "In January 2025, a 35% increase was made in transportation by the UKOME decision, and it has been observed that this increase more than adequately covers current expenses, therefore we declare that there is no reason necessitating a new fare increase, and we express our dissent as the AK Party Group."
THE LAST INCREASE IN TRANSPORTATION WAS 35%
This year, on January 15, a 35% increase was made in public transportation, taxis, and school shuttles at the IMM UKOME meeting. The additional proposal for a 21.29% increase proposed by IMM at the UKOME meeting on June 26 was rejected by the majority of the Ministry representatives who voted "no" at the meeting.
From now on, fare decisions regarding transportation in the city will be made in the IMM Assembly instead of the UKOME. The proposal for a 30% fare increase to be discussed in the IMM Assembly today is expected to pass due to the CHP group's majority in the Assembly.
