While claims that former Fenerbahçe star Ferdi Kadıoğlu could return to the yellow-navy team created excitement, a striking statement came from the management. Board Member Cihan Kamer said of the national player, "Unfortunately, due to valid reasons, we cannot be together this year."
IT WAS CLAIMED HE WOULD RETURN
It was alleged that Ferdi Kadıoğlu, who transferred to Brighton for a transfer fee of 30 million euros at the end of the 2023-24 season, was back on Fenerbahçe's agenda.
Following claims that the national player was open to returning to the yellow-navy club, Cihan Kamer made a statement at midnight.
"UNFORTUNATELY, WE CANNOT BE TOGETHER THIS YEAR"
Responding to a post suggesting Ferdi Kadıoğlu had recently followed him on social media, Kamer said the following:
"I've known Ferdi for years and we follow each other; there is a true brotherhood between us. He is one of the most principled people and footballers I know. He is also a passionate Fenerbahçe fan and has a wonderful family."
In the rest of his statement, Kamer also clarified the transfer rumors:
"Unfortunately, due to valid reasons, we cannot be together this year. But just knowing he supports us with all his heart is very precious to me. I am someone who knows Ferdi's Fenerbahçe devotion and character closely. He always holds a special place in my heart."
