Turkish coach and former national football player Nuri Şahin, who parted ways with Borussia Dortmund, has opened a new chapter in his career. Şahin, who settled in Istanbul with his wife Tuğba Şahin and their children, purchased a luxury villa in Beykoz Acarkent for 5 million 750 thousand dollars (approximately 187 million TL).
According to Hürriyet's report, the Şahin couple quickly started their new life by enrolling their son Ömer and daughter Meryem in a private school in Istanbul. It has been learned that the family prefers to keep their private life away from the public eye, but Şahin has been in contact with some clubs to continue his football career in Turkey.
Born in Germany, Nuri Şahin began his professional football career with Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund. In 2005, Şahin became the youngest player to score in league history; he played for top clubs such as Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Werder Bremen. The successful player, known for his game intelligence, leadership, and field vision, continued his career as a coach. With Şahin's move to Istanbul, it is expected that he will take on an active coaching role in Turkey, having most recently served on Borussia Dortmund's coaching staff.
