It has been determined that the United States is increasing its military buildup in the Caribbean during a period of heightened pressure on Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro. Photos and flight tracking data indicate that there has been significant activity in the region in recent weeks. It has also been identified that U.S. refueling aircraft have been deployed to the Dominican Republic in recent days.

As tensions rise between the US and Venezuela, military activity in the Caribbean has noticeably increased. Photographs and flight tracking data reveal that the Washington administration has deployed fighter jets, helicopters, and support units to the region.

STEALTH PLANES AND ELECTRONIC WARFARE JETS DEPLOYED

According to satellite images and flight data reviewed by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), F-35A stealth fighter jets, EA-18G Growler electronic warfare jets, HH-60W rescue helicopters, and HC-130J rescue aircraft have been deployed to Puerto Rico.

Additionally, it has been detected that US refueling aircraft have recently been sent to the Dominican Republic.

OPERATIONS TARGETING LAND OBJECTIVES POSSIBLE

Military experts emphasize that these air assets sent to the region could play a key role in potential land-based attacks. The presence of electronic warfare aircraft, in particular, strengthens the likelihood of broader operations.

SEIZURE OF OIL TANKER ESCALATES TENSIONS

The US's seizure of an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela on December 10 and the subsequent announcement of new sanctions have heightened tensions in the Caribbean. US President Donald Trump argued that the tanker operation was conducted "for good reason."

The Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs described this move as "theft and international piracy."

TRUMP'S OPEN THREAT

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump stated that they could soon conduct ground operations in Venezuela. The Trump administration announced last month the initiation of "Operation Southern Cross" under the pretext of combating drug trafficking.

15,000 TROOPS AND AIRCRAFT CARRIER IN THE REGION

The US military has deployed 15,000 troops to the region with numerous warships, including the world's largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford. Currently, the US has 11 warships and numerous fighter jets in the Caribbean.

US: 22 OPERATIONS, 87 DEAD

Since September, the US military has conducted at least 22 operations in the region, claiming that 87 individuals allegedly involved in drug trafficking have been killed.
