Şenay Tokmak, 58, who was being treated in hospital in the Alaca district of Çorum for suspected Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) after a tick bite, has died. Tokmak, who remained in intensive care for a week, was buried in her village.

TICK ATTACHED TO HER BODY A WEEK AGO

A tick attached itself to the body of Şenay Tokmak, who lived in Killik village in the Alaca district, a week ago. Tokmak, who fell ill, was taken to Alaca State Hospital. After her initial intervention there, Tokmak, who was referred to Yozgat Bozok University Training and Research Hospital with suspected CCHF disease, was taken into treatment in the intensive care unit for a week.

Şenay Tokmak died in the hospital. After the procedures at the hospital, Tokmak's body was handed over to her relatives and taken to her village to be buried today after the afternoon prayer.
