A 50-year-old woman named Ayşegül Yücel, who was being treated for suspected Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever after a tick bite in Sivas, has passed away in the hospital. The number of people who have died due to ticks in the city this year has reached 12.

DIED DUE TO TICK
Ayşegül Yücel, a married mother of one living in the village of Gühertaş in the Zara district, had a tick attach to her body about a week ago. After removing the tick, Yücel fell ill a few days later and was brought to Cumhuriyet University Medical Faculty Hospital by her relatives. Yücel, who was treated there, has passed away.

It has been learned that Yücel's funeral will be held in her village. The number of deaths from CCHF in the city has risen to 12 this year.
