Ramazan Öncü, a tradesman in the Tuzlukçu district of Konya, faced pressure after attending the AK Party Congress. First, his electricity was cut off, and then he was allegedly summoned to the municipality, where he was forced to perform ablution and made to pray for the CHP Mayor Nurettin Akbuğa. The emergence of footage of the incident sparked reactions, while the victimized tradesman spoke out.
Ramazan Öncü, who runs a kiosk in the Tuzlukçu district of Konya, attended the AK Party Ordinary Congress. This action turned his life into a nightmare. The day after, the tradesman who wanted to open his kiosk found employees of the electricity administration in front of him. Öncü, whose electricity was cut off, rushed to the municipality. The tradesman, who met with the CHP mayor, received the response, "What are you doing at that congress?"
FORCED TO PERFORM ABLUTION...
Ramazan Öncü was called to the municipality for the second time on February 28. Here, he was allegedly forced to perform ablution by individuals claiming to be municipal staff, made to sit on a prayer rug, and was made to pray for the CHP Tuzlukçu Mayor Nurettin Akbuğa. The municipal deputy mayor's office recorded these moments with a mobile phone.
FORCED TO PRAY FOR THE MAYOR
In the footage, municipal staff made Öncü say, "I thank my president Nurettin Akbuğa very much. May God never let him be absent from us. He gave us our bread again. I did it, don't do it, dear president. May God bless you."
THEY PUBLISHED THE VIDEO
When the video of these moments was published on social media, Ramazan Öncü's life turned into a nightmare once again. Öncü, who stated that the municipal employees played with both his bread and his pride, shared his experiences. According to a report by Sabah, Öncü said, "I have great respect for our President. That's why I went to the congress. They took my photo there. The next day, they cut off my electricity. They said this was the 'municipality's order.'
"I BOWED MY HEAD FOR MY BREAD"
As if that wasn't enough, they called me to the municipality, forced me to perform ablution, and made me pray in the name of the mayor. The employees recorded these moments as well. I can't look my children in the face. Look at what they have done to me. Just so my breadbasket wouldn't stay closed, I bowed my head to them. My kiosk has been closed for 10 days. I can't work and earn money," he said.
2 PEOPLE DETAINED
Following the complaint, 2 municipal employees who filmed the video were detained. The two employees, who were charged with depriving a person of their freedom, were released with a judicial control decision.
