The SEPTA train traveling from Philadelphia to Wilmington suddenly ignited around 6:00 PM near Ridley Park. Footage taken by eyewitnesses showed flames bursting from the train's windows and thick smoke rising from the doors.
One of the passengers, Dnasia Bruckner, described her experience: "We changed cars twice. People were screaming 'the train is on fire,' but the staff said nothing. The evacuation took 15 minutes. We were in fear and panic."
SEPTA spokesperson Andrew Busch stated: "The fire started in the lower section of the train. Photos show how serious the situation was. Fortunately, there were no casualties."
