WHAT HAPPENED?

The terrorist organization YPG/PKK had started digging tunnels to move easily without being targeted in civilian settlements and front lines after occupying Tel Rifaat and its surrounding settlements in February 2016. The terrorist organization used the tunnel networks it dug in the occupied district of Tel Rifaat to hide them, transport weapons to the front lines, and target civilian settlements under the control of the opposition.
